PTFE Wetted Parts

All process-contact surfaces are PTFE, providing virtually universal chemical resistance against strong acids, alkalis, and aggressive solvents that would attack metal sensors.

Ceramic Sensing Element

A high-performance ceramic diaphragm delivers excellent stability, fast response, and immunity to corrosion-unlike metal diaphragms that degrade in harsh media.

Fully Sealed Anti-Corrosion Design

The PTFE body, seals, and ceramic diaphragm form a completely sealed barrier, preventing any process media from contacting internal electronics or metal components.

4-20mA Two-Wire Output

Industry-standard 4-20mA current loop simplifies integration with PLCs, DCS, and panel meters while minimizing wiring complexity.

One-Piece, No Adjustment Required

Fully factory-calibrated integrated design eliminates field adjustments, reducing commissioning time and eliminating setup errors.

Compact & Lightweight

Small footprint and low weight enable installation in tight spaces, retrofit projects, and portable or skid-mounted systems.

Product Overview

•The PTFE pressure transmitter (also referred to as a ceramic pressure transmitter for corrosive media, or a fluoropolymer pressure transducer) is a specialized instrument engineered for pressure measurement in the most chemically aggressive environments. Unlike conventional pressure transmitters that rely on stainless steel or Hastelloy diaphragms-which can be attacked by strong acids, bases, and reactive chemicals-this transmitter uses a ceramic sensing element isolated from the process by PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) wetted parts. The result is a chemically inert barrier that resists virtually all industrial chemicals.

•At the heart of the device is a high-performance ceramic diaphragm that deflects under pressure and converts the mechanical strain into an electrical signal. A dedicated signal processing circuit then converts this signal into a standard 4-20mA two-wire output, compatible with virtually any industrial control system. The transmitter is housed in a fully sealed, one-piece stainless steel body with PTFE sealing and a fiberglass-reinforced nylon connector, ensuring durability and long service life.

•With a 0-1MPa absolute measurement range, 2× full-scale overload capability, and an operating temperature range of -10°C to +80°C, this PTFE pressure transmitter is designed for continuous, maintenance-free operation in chemical processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, water treatment, oil & gas, and food & beverage applications where media compatibility is the primary challenge.

FAQ

Q: What is a PTFE wetted parts pressure transmitter and why is it needed?

A: A PTFE wetted parts pressure transmitter is a pressure sensor whose process-contact surfaces are made from PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) rather than metal. It is needed because standard stainless steel or Hastelloy diaphragms are attacked by strong acids, alkalis, and reactive chemicals. PTFE is chemically inert against virtually all industrial chemicals, making this transmitter the only viable option for measuring pressure in highly corrosive media.

Q: What is the role of the ceramic sensing element?

A: The ceramic sensing element (diaphragm) is the component that actually detects pressure. Ceramic is used instead of metal because it is inherently corrosion-resistant, has excellent long-term stability, and is immune to the chemical attack that would degrade a metal diaphragm. It deflects under pressure and generates a signal that is converted to the 4-20mA output.

Q: What media can this transmitter measure?

A: The transmitter is compatible with virtually any liquid or gas that does not attack PTFE. This includes strong acids (hydrochloric, sulfuric, nitric), strong alkalis (sodium hydroxide), oxidizing agents, and aggressive solvents. It is also suitable for high-purity applications because PTFE does not leach metal ions into the process.

Q: Does the transmitter require field calibration or adjustment?

A: No. The transmitter is fully factory-calibrated and has a one-piece integrated structure with no external adjustment potentiometers. It is ready for immediate installation and use, eliminating commissioning time and preventing accidental misadjustment.

Q: Can the pressure range or process connection be customized?

A: Yes. While the standard configuration is 0-1MPa absolute with a G1/2 male thread, custom pressure ranges, alternative process connections (e.g., NPT, other metric threads), and alternative wetted materials (e.g., PVDF) are available upon request.
